Job Description

We’re a growing team building tools that directly impact our patients and families, as well as our clinic staff. We work quickly but calmly. We are looking for a seasoned QA engineer to help us ensure that the tools that run our clinics maintain the highest quality standards. You’ll work with wonderful engineers, designers, and medical providers to build creative solutions for our families and clinic staff. You’ll have autonomy and ownership over Brave Care’s quality processes.

Everyone on our team works across the stack. We use TypeScript, Node.js, React Native, Hasura, Postgres, and GraphQL to build our mobile apps, website, and backend.

This is a full time, remote position (US only) at a fast-growing startup.

Some of the things you will do

  • Assess Brave Care’s existing test suite and make a plan for improving it
  • Work with the engineering team to set a baseline testing strategy
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure new code adheres to quality standards
  • Join our on call rotation and help our clinic staff with urgent support issues
  • Assist with bug triage and resolution, and regression testing
  • Share your knowledge with other engineers and help level up your teammates
  • Ensure we have a performant, secure, extensible platform for all our applications
  • Report on quality metrics (MTTR, defect density, etc.)
  • Document our full tech stack and create run books
  • Ensure our releases are stable and bug free (as much as humanly possible)


  • 5 or more years of experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with JavaScript, Node.js, and React (TypeScript a plus)
  • Experience testing React at multiple levels (unit, component, visual, end-to-end, etc.)
  • Experience building out end to end test suites for native applications
  • Experience improving the monitoring/observability of an application
  • HIPAA / SOC2 compliance experience a plus
