Pediatric Primary Care Nurse - Full Time

Location: Portland, OR

As Brave Care continues to grow we're looking for a Registered Nurse to support our Primary Care Practice. This is a great opportunity to be part of a practice and company changing the way children and families access and receive care. We’re looking for nurses to help us staff our daytime call line as well as support our Primary Care provider to ensure continuity of care for our Primary Care patients.

In this role, you will…

As the Primary Care RN you will be a core part of Brave Care’s Primary Care Team. You will partner closely with the provider, care coordinator, and practice manager to create an excellent and compassionate care experience for all our primary care patients.

You’ll be asked to:

  • Provide medical advice for parents
  • Manage the flow of patients within the clinic
  • Collect vitals and medical history from patients
  • Support the Primary Care Provider during appointments and procedures
  • Perform venous and capillary blood draws; administer vaccinations apply fluoride varnish; perform in-house lab tests such as hemoglobin, lead levels, and lipid panels; and obtain Newborn Screens.
  • Coordinate care for patients, including prescription refills, referrals, and prior authorizations
  • Communicate lab results to patients
  • Provide ongoing support for chronic disease management
  • Oversee vaccination services
  • Maintain accurate and complete records in Brave Care’s EHR
  • Support the success of the practice by contributing to best practice creation and workflow improvements

You’ll need to have…

  • 2 years of pediatric nursing experience
  • Eligible for or already licensed in Oregon

You must:

  • Acquire and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certification
  • Show proof of vaccination status for COVID-19 (subject to accommodations)
  • Have the ability to pass the OSHA required medical evaluation & fit testing

You will be scheduled for four 10-hour shifts each week and be required to work a weekend rotation.
