As Brave Care continues to grow we're looking for a PRN Clinic Receptionist. This is a great opportunity to be part of a company changing the way children and families access and receive exceptional medical care. As our receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and our families and will provide administrative support for our clinical staff. You'll handle the flow of people through the business and ensure that all receptionist responsibilities are completed accurately and delivered promptly, with high quality.
In this role you will…
- Assist visitors by greeting, welcoming, checking them in and out of appointments
- Deliver exceptional customer service and effectively managing difficult conversations
- Accurately verify patient insurance coverage
- Direct and announce patients appropriately for services
- Answer, screen and forward any incoming phone calls while presenting essential information when needed
- Receive and sort daily mail/deliveries/couriers
- Manage security by following procedures and controlling access (monitor logbook, issue visitor badges)
- Checking patients out from appointments and scheduling any needed follow ups
- Complete other clerical receptionist duties such as but not limited to filing, photocopying, collating, faxing etc.
Clinic Safety
At Brave Care our Clinic Receptionists play a vital role in Clinic & Staff Safety as Safety Committee members and Safety Coordinators. Theses duties included but are not limited to:
- Reviews current processes and policies in their area with staff on a regular basis to ensure safety guidelines and requirements are up to date and to make suggestions if they need improvement
- Conducts and documents quarterly safety audits in partnership with Clinic Ops Director
- Conduct inspections of worksites in response to complaints as assigned
- Subject Matter Expert for on-site Safety policy and procedure questions
- Provides guidance and leadership to the clinic as needed regarding safety
- Assists in incident and near miss investigations
- Makes recommendations on safety improvements on behalf of their sub-committee and clinic team
- Coordinates with SO, CMs, and Leads to schedule emergency/disaster drills quarterly
- Works with Brave Care Learning & Development department to schedule re-training to members and/or team as identified necessary
- Assists with coordination of any/all clinic trainings, document acknowledgements, and/or other commitments deemed necessary for clinic staff member(s) by committee
- Acts as “Safety Coordinator” as outlined in Emergency Plan
- Gauge protocol/procedure understanding of clinic staff and communicate gaps
- Encourage staff to share ideas through creative thinking, to improve and minimize incidents and/or injuries
- Communicate with and obtain feedback from staff and the committee on safety-related subjects

You’ll need to have…
- At least one year of experience working in a medical office or clinic, handling clinical receptionist responsibilities
- High School Diploma or equivalent
You must:
- Acquire and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of employment
